Jane (Liphook)

Seeking a book club

I would like to meet monthly to discuss etc. I love reading and would like to get back to reading more. I primarily like most books, eg booker short/long list, but also other . Also good old crime/detective/historical. Not keen on science fiction/ fantasy and light romance..Would prefer to read books with first language English but open to books in translation. Only because there are just so many books out there. I am retired, studied English and drama at degree and then worked in scientific , technical and medical publishing for 18 years before retraining as a psychotherapist.

Seeking a gaming group

I am looking to play more D&D online or in person. I have been playing for a while as both a player and DM. Lately, I've been playing with a group that meet every other week. Mostly online, sometimes in person. It is not enough. The time in between sessions is too long and gets worse when a session gets cancelled. So, looking to join a game to help fill the gaps and meeting new friends.

Ash (Eastleigh)

Seeking a book club

I've been reading fiction (mostly fantasy and sci-fi) through audiobooks over the last several years and only really talk to others about the books I read through online platforms, would be nice to meet some like-minded readers in person. ------------- I've read books like Mother of Learning (of which I'm currently reading the 4th book), The Wheel of Time, Dungeon Crawler Carl, He Who Fights with Monsters, the Disc World books, The Expanse, Murderbot Diaries, Andy Wier's books, Cradle, Red Rising, The Stormlight Archive and The Books of Babel.

Ash recommends:

Mother of Learning

Deep interesting characters, fantastic world building and a very well thought out story about a student stuck in a month-long time loop in magical academy town.
