A few examples of recent favourites: The Essex Serpent and Enlightenment by Sarah Perry, Crossroads by Jonathan Franzen, Winchelsea by Alex Preston But I also love a good detective pager turner and historical fiction novel e.g. Robert Harris and Mick Herron
