CZcat (Witham (Essex))

Seeking a gaming group

I am a casual player looking for a less strict dnd 5e game (idealy 2015 not 2025 but either is good) with lots of flexibility in playstyle while still encouraging interaction and player prep. I have been stuck as a forever dm for a year or so now without getting to play dnd as a player in that time and just miss playing fun charicters. I am a furry and probably would play either tabaxi or a less common race from one of the dnd books I have such as delvers guide to beastworld or the dictionary of dinosaurs book so if your a dm who doesn't like players playing odd or diferent races I probably am not the best person to play with

Lucy (Colchester)

Seeking a gaming group

Down to meet new people that share my interests! It's been a couple of years since my last 5e campaign and have been feeling the itch recently lol:) Don't have much more TTPRG experience than DND other than a couple sessions of BOTCT, but open to branching out. I'm here to get super nerdy and high fantasy to counteract the corporate hellscape (please let me escape, oh God, oh please). If any groups are looking for an extra member, give me a shout! Swear I'm an excellent tag-along x

Louise (Rochford)

Seeking a book club

I'd love to join a local group near Southend or Rochford. I'm currently reading John of John by Douglas Stewart who also wrote Shuggie Bain which was a 5* read for me. I like modern contemporary fiction but like to read a couple of classics a year. This year it was The Grapes of Wrath by Steinbeck and So Long, See you Tomorrow by William Maxwell. My current favourite authors are Elizabeth Strout, Donal Ryan, Helen Garner, Colm Toibin and Kevin Barry. I've got a bit of a block on the romantasy genre and anything formulaic. My controversial opinion is I don't like Lily King or other overhyped modern fiction. But I do read it, to be sure.

Love a good read, write poetry (have had some published) and the English language is a passion of mine. Would be good just to share thoughts, and talk to like minded people! At present, l am reading my 3rd book by Lawrence Anthony, the elephant whisperer, called The Last Rhinos

Though it's a romance (not to everyones taste) l loved the story line, and his use of descriptive English. Its a small concise book, full of wonderful words & phrases

65 years old, married with two grown-up children. Read modern fiction, some non-fiction. All time favourite book: Catch 22. Recent books that had a big impact on me: All the Light we Cannot See; Glorious Exploits; Your are Here. Guilty pleasure/easy reads: Graham Norton, Richard Osman and every word ever written by Irvine Welsh. Have always liked the idea of a book discussion group
