Annie

Seeking a book club

I’m 73, have always loved reading and been in book clubs wherever I’ve lived. I moved to Yatton in September from Cumbria (before that Oxfordshire) where I was actually in 2 clubs! I think a book club is about extending your range of genres, as well as enjoying those you are already familiar with. I also have always enjoyed meeting new people and socialising. If you require any more info, let me know. Annie

Grant

Seeking a book club

An avid reader with an under-utilised library card. I am looking to expand my reading list and meet interesting people with whom I can discuss the books. Looking for a book club within a reasonable driving distance who meet up on a semi regular basis. I am a mid 30’s male with no preference as to other members. Typically read fantasy genre as well as Manga/Manhwa though looking to do some reading into other genres.

Gardens of the moon

by Steven Erikson | Learn more and buy

This start to an epic fantasy series is well worth reading if you like fantasy books on an epic scale. Steven Erikson fleshes out the characters and environment with strong attention to detail though if you want to read something with one or two characters this series probably won’t be for you.

Ravenheart

by David Gemmell | Learn more and buy

A true coming of age, teen fantasy book. This was one of my first introductions into the fantasy genre when I was younger and is still one of my favourite books. The book does have prequels to give you an understanding of the history of the world however is not required reading for this book.

Kate

Seeking a book club

I am a primary school teacher, a mother and a writer (agented, but unpublished) looking to discover and talk about new books. I tend to choose historical fiction novels (anything by Kate Atkinson or Joanne Harris) but am keen to branch out and follow recommendations - I have discovered some real gems this way!
