Running Colchester is a RunTogether running group, part of England Athletics' network of friendly group runs. They meet at Princess Charlotte, Outside Next, Tollgate, Stanway, and Northern Gateway Sports Park, CO4 5YX. Runs are usually on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Thursday, and Tuesday. Sessions cater for get me started, all levels, and keep me going runners. Distances: 0 - 5k and 5 - 10k.

Every fortnight, we congregate from 7 PM and carry on till early morning. Generally, there are between 15 to 20 of us, some arriving and some leaving at varying times. We play a variety of games, with a preference for Eurogames.

CWA gathers at Tollgate Hall, Stanway, every Friday evening from 7 to 11pm, with the exceptions of Good Friday, Christmas, and New Year. Approximately half of the attendees can be found playing Euro boardgames, while role-playing games and wargames are played as well. CWA has been around since the sixties, when miniature wargames originated, and has since then also included boardgames from as far back as Diplomacy and Risk. In the 1990's, CWA hosted Salvo Wargames Convention in Colchester. Please note that the address only serves as a meeting venue - contact with the organization can only be made through showing up in-person.

Fat Cat Reading Group
Book club
A friendly book group for men is now accepting new members. We meet up on the 3rd Friday of every month, apart from August, usually at the Fat Cat, but occasionally at the Odd One Out or the Hospital Arms for discussion, drinks and a good time. Twice a year we even have a night out for a curry or go for a cycle and a chat in the Rose and Crown pub in Wivenhoe. Some of us even do some light exercise in the form of running, but that's completely optional! We explore a wide range of books, from 'The Fight' to 'Feet in the Clouds'. So why not come along to Butt Road, Colchester and join us!
