Seeking a book club

I moved to England (Weston-super-mare) recently and I found myself reading more. I am discovering nice fiction, non-fiction, biographies, philosophy, etc. books. I am interested in finding a book club, where we can meet to discuss about a specific book, make friends, enjoy some tea and a nice chat.

I’ve read this book 3 times now and it gets better each time I swear. I love Greek mythology retellings and this is by far my favourite.

I've been playing TTRPGs for about 9 years now. I'm up for basically anything, and particularly like branching out in systems.

Seeking a gaming group

I'm a twenty-two, almost twenty-three, year old autistic guy who's looking for... just about anything, really. I'm pretty open to most things and seem to get along with just about everybody. That said, Dungeons & Dragons is something I'm more familiar with, so maybe we could start there? Up to you, really. I just want to make a few friends here.

Chris

Seeking a book club

I love reading and would like to extend my friendship group so a book club seems a good place to start. I like the classics, but also lots of modern stuff too. I’m not usually into non- fiction but have tried a few biographies and am happy to branch out a bit.

Chris recommends:

Miss Buncle’s Book
by DE Stevenson | Learn more and buy
This was book about a “distressed gentlewoman” who writes a book for money and is then taken aback by the results was written in the 1930’s. The author is an astute observer of people and manners with a very light touch. It is very funny and I love the period detail as well as the humour.

Seeking a book club

Hi! I’ve just moved back to the West Country after 25 years away and I’m looking to make some new friends with shared interests. I tend to read non-fiction but I’m happy to read fiction, too - I’ll give most things a go. I’m a young-minded 51 year old who is very sociable but also respects boundaries. Hoping to find a nice book club to join or meet some people who would like to start one. 😊

Nikki recommends:

My favourite fiction author and not the usual first recommendation but all her books are glorious. Funny, insightful and intelligently written - very engaging reads. I love classics - but also love more modern writers.

Super shy, nervous, 24Y/O, trans mtf but not good at it, looking to make some friends? Used to play DnD 5e wrong in high school and would love to learn to play properly or maybe play some other systems, interested in horror and would love to try call of Cthulhu but anything at all is fine. Particularly interested in joining an LGBT+ groupp but happy to play with anyone, ideally as a player but fine to dm sometimes once I'm comfortable with the group and more familiar with the rules of the system
