Bee

Seeking a gaming group

I am very open, I am queer female (21) looking to get into rpg especially DND. I hope to find a group already established and where I'm not the only female in the group and that would be willing to deal with a beginner

Seeking a gaming group

Hey, I moved here from the US and am looking to find a group to play DND! I'm 23 and genderfluid, with a little dnd experience and have a decent idea of the rules. I'm happy to be the GM or a player, one-shots or campaigns, whatever folks are feeling :)

Seeking a book club

I'm interested in joining a book club that has science fiction and fantasy as the main focus of the group in Durham. I do read all formats (physical, e-books and audio.) I don't like meeting in pubs.

Gaming group

My partner and I (28m, 28m) are looking for a gaming group/players. We are interested in BRP Chaosium games, specifically Pendragon RPG and Runequest. Also curious about Time Without Tide. I would be happy to GM or be a player depending on interest. We are also into board games. A few recent favourites are: Pax (Renaissance, Pamir, Porfiriana), John Company 2nd Ed., Arcs, Oath, The Old Kingโ€™s Crown, and Food Chain Magnate. Based nearby Durham in Trimdon and would be able to host sessions or drive/travel

Seeking a gaming group

28m, Experienced with board games and RPGs, though I've been off the table for a little while and keen to get stuck back in. Up for most things - strategy, story, or just a fun social session, though generally prefer games on the heavier side. For RPGs, prefer narrative/dramatic system.

Emily

Seeking a gaming group

Hi. I am looking to join a group that plays one of the following: Dungeons and Dragons (version 3.5), Star Wars RPG published by Wizards of the Coast (from around 2008/2012), World of Darkness: Werewolf (from around the same time), or the original version of The One Ring (LOTR/Hobbit) rpg published around 2014. It has been a while since I played a table top rpg, but I enjoyed playing DnD, and Star Wars while at uni in 2008/2011, and I have (some) but not all of the guide books for these games.

Seeking a book club

Hi, I love horror novels, especially historical horror. I also like a bit of fantasy but all of those tend to overlap anyway. I'm looking for people to enthuse about books with in a pretty cafe :)

It's a perfect moody winter book set in late oliver cromwell times before the monarchy restoration. It involves history, religious mythology and rituals but is mainly about vampires and this demon guy. Very cozy read

Hayley

Seeking a book club

Hi, I've been meaning to find a book club to find out what's popular and what others are reading. I'm an avid reader, currently enjoying historical fiction, romance and dystopian novels. I especially enjoy the dystopian genre.

I love the way Rooney writes: matter of fact but also relatable and conversational. Believable. I enjoyed it thoroughly, enough to read it twice! I also enjoyed the BBC series.
Go as a river by Shelley Read

The beauty of Read's description of the wilderness and nature in the Colorado mountains will live rent free in my mind for a long time. Her writing is very atmospheric with beautiful characters.

Silpa

Seeking a book club

27F - I mainly like fantasy, sci-fi, historical fiction, and classics. Tolkien is my favourite author but Pratchett and Austen are up there too. Would love to just meet up and talk books, either one on one or as part of a small group.

Silpa recommends:

Going Postal by Terry Pratchett
Going Postal
by Terry Pratchett | Learn more and buy
One of my favourite Discworld novels of all time! It can serve as a standalone novel so no prior Discworld experience needed. A conman is hanged for his crimes in Ankh-Morpork... but not to the death. The Patrician of the city offers him a second chance, and he is appointed as the Postmaster General of the city's failing post office. There's also a mystery involved, just the slightest hint of romance, and lots of delightful comedic moments. Can't recommend it enough!
