Ed (Frome)

Seeking a book club

I enjoy reading a lot of different genres, and lately I've been getting back into fantasy, including epic and urban fantasy. Stand-outs for me are Nettle and Bone and the Nevernight Chronicle. I also read non-fiction from time-to-time; books about films/making-ofs, for example, "Best. Movie. Year. Ever" , local history, folklore, etc. I don't have lots of time right now, but it would be nice to meet for lunchtime coffee in Frome to discuss books and make new friends.

KEVIN JOHNSON (Watchet)

Seeking a book club

I have published four novels and I want to a free samole copy to local book clubs . If they book club decides to read the book as a group I can sell them at a discount price of £5 each copy. I am willing to visit the book clubs locally to explain and answer any questions about the books. All the books have a strong plot with twists that are only resolved in the last few pages. All the books involve characters from the North of England and three of the novels find the characters involved in the Great War or its afermath. If any book club is interested I can send a free copy for evaluation and can sell subsequent copies at a discount price. I would be willing to visit the book club to answer any questions eith in person or by Zoom. I live in Watchet Somerset.

I’m 21 and I love fantasy & spice, i absolutely love the escape it gives you from the real world. My favourite book series are a court of thorns and roses & throne of glass. I’m looking to find people who are interested in similar books and hopefully make some friends! :) I’d love to find a book club which is interested in these sort of books so we can discuss them over some snacks and a cup of tea.

Oh where to start with this book, the whole series will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions! I love the world building in this and how much you get to know the characters, feeling like you follow them through their life. I thought nothing could top my love of A court of thorns and roses but I think this did! A must read if you like fantasy.

I'm an author and a lifelong lover of books. My first novel, Dancing on Knives, is coming out in January 2025. I'd love to connect with local reading groups who might be interested in reading a Bosnian ghost story about the dark legacy of war, and the unexpected roads that lead to redemption.

I am 67 and still an avid reader, of all kinds of books, including non-fiction. Have just discovered Fitzcorraldo publishers who do translations and read a wonderful French book. But I will read anything, including science fiction, fantasy, poetry and eco stories.
