Dani (Yeovil)

Seeking a book club

Hi! I’m 26 and reading is one of my favourite things to do. My favourite genre is romantasy but I also love a bit of sci-fi. If I’m not reading I’m probably crafting. I moved to Somerset last year and would love to make some friends. 😊

Tetiana (Nailsea)

Seeking a book club

My name is Tanya, 72, and I moved to Nailsea from Surrey recently to be closer to my family. I would like to join the reading club because reading is what I do in my spare time, mainly historical novels. Also I’d like to meet new friends with similar interests. I started reading early, but really enjoying reading since I became a teenager, and it was mainly classical literature. I found for myself French writers like George Sand, Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas, Honore de Balzac, Emil Zola, later Scottish R. L. Stevenson and Thackeray, I didn’t enjoy reading Charles Dickens, I found his books dark and gloomy. I am also familiar with Russian, German and American literature. Theodore Dreiser is among my favourites.

Loen (Frome)

Seeking a book club

I’m 19 and have just moved to the area so I’m hoping to meet some people my age! I’ve loved reading since I was introduced to jacqueline wilson’s books as a kid and although I havent managed to read as much as I wanted throughout my teens, I’m now rediscovering my love for fantasy and anything with a good strong plot. I’m also a part of the lgbtq+ community so if a book has queer characters thats a big plus for me!

I am a qualified English teacher and have an MA in Creative Writing. I would like to join a group that discusses books from a literary criticism perspective or who discuss literary fiction rather than popular fiction (although, of course, a book can be both literary and popular!)

Arron (Bridgwater)

Seeking a book club

Hi everyone! I’m 33 and a proud parent of three, so life can be pretty busy—but I always make time for a good book. Reading is my favorite way to unwind, especially when I can get lost in a great story. I’m a big fan of fantasy and also like to read crime and thrillers. Looking for a book buddy in the Somerset area or a book club who I can share reads with.
