Katie (Skelmersdale)

Seeking a book club

Hi. I’m Katie. I absolutely love reading books. My favourite author’s are Maureen Lee, Katie Flynn, maggie mason and Elaine Everest. When I read, I am transported to a simpler time. My soul heals and any worries I have vanish for a while. I would look to form or join a local book club to discuss books of course and also to make friends.

Joanne (Preston)

Seeking a book club

My name is Joanne and I'm a new indie romance author as well as an avid reader. My author name is J Frances and I am looking to both promote my books at book clubs as well as partake in reading and sharing reviews of all the other books written by indie authors that I'm currently working my way through reading. My novels are spicy contemporary romance novels with guaranteed happy ever afters. I love to read romance and mystery novels, as well as thrillers.

Beautifully written and set against the backdrop of New York in the 1960s, this book takes you on a powerful journey with two people who are brought together by fate and who's separate lives come together as one as they weave seamlessly through the decades, facing many uphill struggles and upheavals. Romantic with a touch of the supernatural, this book will leave its mark on you long after the last page.

I love how cleverly the arc developed, the change in Darcy's character as he had begun to acknowledge his feelings for Elizabeth, and her oblviousness to it making for an interesting read.

It's a simple spy thriller but his characters come to life in a setting perfectly evoked. His writing is the sort of frictionless prose that Orwell lauded.
