Frederick (Brighton)

Seeking a gaming group

19/Male I am looking to join a narrative focused RPG group. I'm happy to try any system as long as there is a focus on narrative and roleplaying. I have experience with d&d and pathfinder from school clubs but have not played either system for some time so am a bit rusty. I've also looked into lancer and cyberpunk 2020 and would love try them out but have never had the chance to. I am looking to find a group of like-minded people to have a good laugh and play some ttrpgs with.

Maddy (Hailsham)

Seeking a book club

Im a 33 year old who has just got back into reading books. I love reading but found over the last few years I haven’t had the time to read unless I was on holiday. Now I’m making more time I would love to meet people with the same interests and discuss books. I like psychological thrillers and some authors I like are Alice Feeney, Susan Lewis, Lisa Jewell and Freida McFadden books. I’m looking for a book club ideally around Hailsham/Herstmonceux.

Becca (Bexhill-on-Sea)

Seeking a book club

I enjoy most genres, and I haven't found one yet that I particularly dont enjoy. I read a lot when I was younger and lost the desire as a young adult to read after leaving college and life getting busy. But recently I've re-ignited my enjoyment for reading, and love to talk about books I've read/am enjoying/want to read. However unfortunately my partner doesn't!

Becca recommends:

The Bunker Diary by Kevin Brooks

You won't expect the ending!
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
The Hobbit

Epic world building and a fantastic story, and introduction to Lord of the Rings. But if you dont/didn't enjoy LOTR, you'll still love the Hobbit!

A 21 year old DnD player but!! mainly here to find a group for my dad (60s) to play with. He played when he was in uni and is desperate to get back into it, but no friends to do so with. I'm heading to London soon so am hoping to find a group of great people in East Sussex that he can slay some dragons with ASAP!

M (Eastbourne)

Seeking a book club

I’m 48, female, and self employed so have flexible times to enjoy books and storytelling. I particularly enjoy fantasy with a smattering of romance and spirituality, and a bit of magic :) Humour and cleverly put together narrative are especially enjoyable to me :) Looking to connect with like minds - lots of my reading is done in parks and on the beach and I’d love to meet with others either outdoors, or in libraries, cafes, etc to read the same or different things. Would love to hear from you.

Amelia (Heathfield)

Seeking a book club

Hi I’m Amelia and I’m 18 y/o, I’m looking to join a book club just to become friends and share my interests in reading! I read mostly romance with slight fantasy aspects to them. But want to broaden my genres as well as have some friends to talk to.

Amelia recommends:

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
Shatter Me

It’s the book that got me out of a reading slump and made me realize that I have a love for reading again. I love the whole series and the writing style. It’s detailed but not a slow burner and reads with ease.

Tina (Eastbourne)

Seeking a book club

I am in my 50s and have just started a full time admin role, but it is mainly working from home so I have most evenings free (Netflix can be addictive but I want to keep my brain active). I avidly listen to audio books but would like to get back to reading the old fashioned way! I like popular fiction, self help, biographies or anything thought-provoking and discussion-worthy.

Tina recommends:

Sociopath by Patric Gagne
Sociopath

The female author diagnosed herself as a sociopath, and decided to take control of her life and fight against her instincts in order to be ‘normal’. Surprisingly addictive and uplifting read.
