The writing is so succinct and well crafted, I love everything about this author.

This book opened the door for me into Sufi mysticism. The relationship between Shams and Rumi raised interesting questions about love, ego, friendship, and transformation. I also enjoyed how relatable the characters felt, despite living in a completely different time and culture. Their struggles and emotions felt very real and very human. More than a hint of magical realism too, which always works for me. Despite the challenges and tragedies in the story, it left me with a sense of joy and optimism and wanting to learn more about the spiritual ideas and themes the book explores.

I feel a sense of connection while reading it. It is a story that will stay with you long after you read. I have read it twice and the third time is on its way.

This is book amazing, gritty, spicy 🌶️, amazing story telling with characters I fell in love with!
