Beautifully written and takes you on a lovely journey from start to finish. Interesting characters with magic and sorcery throughout. Gorgeous storytelling, where you can clearly visualise the vibrant world within the book. Resilient, humble and strong heroine.

Shelby Leon (Bexhill-on-Sea)

Seeking a gaming group

I am relatively new to D&D but DM for my friends and everyone has a good time. We can only get together occasionally though, so am looking for a second group where I am happy to DM or be a player. If you are new yourself, then as long as we can get a small group together, I am happy to run a one shot to see if you like the game.

Lorri (Hastings)

Seeking a book club

I’m in my 50s. I used to love reading all different genres but life got in the way and I struggled to find time to read. I love anything from the classics to Harry Potter, crime/thrillers and some romance. I also like to learn about different things and about natural medicine. I feel like I must have missed out of some great books so that’s why I would like to join a book club.

Seeking a book club

I’ve always been an avid reader, different genres. I work from home and would love to combine a good chat about books (or films) with the chance to leave the house and meet like minded people!

The Forty Rules of Love
by Elif Sharak | Learn more and buy
This book opened the door for me into Sufi mysticism. The relationship between Shams and Rumi raised interesting questions about love, ego, friendship, and transformation. I also enjoyed how relatable the characters felt, despite living in a completely different time and culture. Their struggles and emotions felt very real and very human. More than a hint of magical realism too, which always works for me. Despite the challenges and tragedies in the story, it left me with a sense of joy and optimism and wanting to learn more about the spiritual ideas and themes the book explores.

Hiya, I’ve never played anything like this before, I’m looking to start. My name is David, I’m very familiar with RPGs and have seen the hype around Baldurs Gate 3. I’d like to get more of a feel of ttrpgs before I attempt to play any video games based off it. Anyway, I’m local to Chiddingly but from Birmingham originally. I’m 35. Thanks for reading, cheers.P

it's a thriller based on a fairytale with really vivid writing, interesting characters, and brings up questions on morality, sanity, and justice.
