Hobby groups in Dorset

I read (and loved) Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell when I was much younger so when I saw a new Susanna Clarke book I didn’t even read the blurb before jumping to read it! Luckily, I enjoyed Piranesi even more. It’s got fantastically detailed, unique world building. A haunted house story from the perspective of the ghost, but not in the way you would probably expect.

Lots of short stories, each uplifting in their own unique way. This book feels like a love letter to local community and to human kindness.

A short and vibrant read delving into the lives in astronauts in a space station orbiting the earth. Poetic and thoughtful, blends story & science, a rare beauty of a book.

I love the action, battle scenes, magic system, world building. It’s a character driven book but has plenty of very well written battle scenes. It’s a standalone, it left me wanting more but I know that it’s the oerfect length.
