I'm a 29 year old living in Wokingham looking for some regular groups to play DnD 5e (2024) with. About 4 years ago, some of my friends got me into playing DnD 5e and I have loved it both as a player and a DM. I still feel somewhat inexperienced as I haven't been able to regularly play due to my friends living far away and would love to find some groups local to me that could meet more regularly. I'm happy to DM to a more inexperienced group who are starting out or join a party as a player.

I'm actually looking to make contact with local book clubs with a different idea in mind. I'm a local published author who is looking to make contact with any book clubs who'd be interested in having an author come along on a completely informal basis to give a talk or maybe a Q&A regarding the writing process, creation of characters etc. I'm not looking to promote my book, that is already being taken care of, I just really enjoy attending events to encourage and discuss how it is possible for anyone to write if they put their mind to it. I have read many books written by Ken Follet, but this was my first and I think it will also remain my favourite. I read Lie Down With Lions during a car journey and it was definitely an 'I can't put it down' experience. The tension in the final chapters as the Russian Army track the Afghanistan people across the mountains had me pushing on to find out how it ends. Also, the book was very informative with regard to the Russian invasion of Afghanistan, something that certainly resonates today.
