Seeking a book club

Hi, I’m Marlee! I’m based in Hertford and love getting lost in a good book. I enjoy a mix of genres, especially romance. I’m hoping to join a book group to meet new people, share recommendations, and discover books I wouldn’t normally pick up. I’d love to meet regularly and chat all things books!

I’d really love the opportunity to socialise with other book lovers and enjoy discussing a good book as part of a group.

An author myself of suspense thrillers, I'm looking to connect with individuals and groups who might be interested in readings, signings and discussion about books in general, especially crime fiction. My debut novel - CHASING The SUN - is being published late Nov 2025 by Vanguard Press.

Seeking a book club

Hey! Hoping to join a reading group, normally read stuff that’s quite funny or bizarre (e.g. bit of Vonnegut), as well as poetry (Lorca, Eliot etc), though happy to have my mind ‘expanded’!

Bookperson96 recommends:

Lorca - selected poems
Just pages and pages of unreal poetry

Hiya, I’m new to the area and looking for other people that share my passion of reading. I’m into dark Russian literature (Dostoevsky is the GOAT) and nihilistic first person books such as American pyscho and less than zero. Hit me up if you need a new member to join your group.

Seeking a book club

I'm 67, retired and looking for fellow readers to meet to talk about books, to discuss literature in general. I have spent much of my life reading technical stuff and want to broaden my scope to pretty much any area of fiction writing. I live in Hertford and as I'm retired can make just about any time and day.

It's a classic spy thriller written by a former CIA analyst - so someone who has first hand experience of the 'great game'.

I am in my 50's and looking to join a book club in the Hertford/WGC area. I enjoy most genres - Romance/Thriller etc with the exception of really historical books. It would be lovely to meet others and discuss books.

Seeking a book club

I’ve lived in Hertford now a couple of years and really would love to join a book club to have discussions and thoughts on a book that others are also reading. I like all genres but probably keep away from historical reads. I read everything from autobiographies to easy readers. Would love to join the club when you’re starting a new book. Thank you Emma

It’s great to read how the dynamics of a friendship can change over time. This was an exciting read on a topic of creating gaming which was original and really informative. There were highs and there were lows in love and in sad times..but all in all an enjoyable read. Gabrielle Zevin is brilliant story teller that I enjoyed very much.

29 - First time DnD 5e player looking for a group, ideally as a player but would be willing to try DMing if needed to get a group running locally. Familiar with 2014 but would be open to trying 2024 rulesets when they launch this month if the rebalances are preferred
