CHERYL

Seeking a book club

I am considering setting up a book club and it would be helpful if you could let me know if this is something you would be interested in. October 2026 post. Please let me know what you would expect in terms of location and frequency - and anything else which might be useful! Whitehaven based but could be wider afield. Had to put cockermouth as Whitehaven not listed!

Fascinating insight not only into one person's battle with the bottle but also his road to being sober. Funny (laugh out loud funny in places) but also poignant. Makes you think.

Karen

Seeking a book club

I'm moving to the area and reigniting my interesr in reading. Mainly fantasy and crime but love disvovering new stuff outside if these. I would like to meet up with those who like books, walks and nature and meet local people socially. I don't take myself too seriously and hope to buy in the area eventually so want to find my people while finding good reads.

Hi, I'm looking to take up more reading in my spare and social activities. I am early retired due to health issues. I used to do a lot of reading years ago. I enjoy most topics, history, thrillers, romance, autobiographies, self help etc.

Very surprising if youโ€™re not familiar with it. Both innit plot content, and in how wonderfully easy and compelling it is to read.

Seeking a book club

I'm moving to the area and I'd like to meet people who love to read. I mostly read sci-fi, fantasy and romance but other genres as horror, thriller, historical fiction and non fiction (like biographies, history and science) could be found in my bookshelves.

JJreads

Seeking a book club

I am looking for people to read and discuss books with! I am a big fan of a range of genres but Iโ€™m really into both fantasy and contemporary fiction at the moment. Some five star reads from this year would be The Glutton, Boulder and Arrangements In Blue.

I'm relatively new to the area and looking to make friends with other book lovers. I read pretty much every genre under the sun.
