Claire
Seeking a book club
A semi-retired teacher who loves to read. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends and socialising in small groups with a cup of tea and sometimes a sweet treat! I am currently devouring the DI Ryan books by LJ Ross or the Philippa Gregory books set in Tudor Times or the Wars of the Roses era. I would love to join a local book group to make new friends and to share new authors/genres I haven't tried before.

Books at the Barca (Gosforth)
Book club
This friendly book club meets at the Barca Art Bar on Gosforth High Street, usually on the third or fourth Thursday of each month. Sessions last about 90 minutes for discussion, followed by a chat, and the monthly read is chosen by member nominations and a poll. It is not limited to any one genre, and the group may sometimes run extra events such as quizzes or non-fiction meet-ups.
