Criss (Birmingham)

Seeking a book club

Hello! Iโ€™m in my 40's, and Iโ€™m looking to join a book club to expand my horizons and dive into new perspectives. I believe that reading not only broadens the mind but also offers a unique way to connect with others who share a love for exploring different ideas and experiences. Iโ€™m excited to discover new books, engage in thoughtful discussions, and meet people who are passionate about learning and growth. If I can make a few new friends along the way, thatโ€™s an added bonus! Iโ€™m open-minded, eager to learn, and looking forward to the enriching conversations and connections that come with being part of a community of book lovers.

So i could talk about this book for days, im not really interested in Greek mythology but i feel like the way the author wrote these character making literal Greek gods feel relatable was really interesting to me. I think the fact that the author made me feel emotions like anger and happiness while reading the book , is something that always makes me want to come back and re read this book.
Once Upon a Brocken Heart
by Stephanie Garber | Learn more and buy
It felt like a childish book, in a good way. I read it during summer and while reading it i felt warm. The romance between the main characters is a HEAVY slow burn and in the end its really worth it. Its the type of boo that had me giggling and screaming ( just a little bit )

Millie22 (Birmingham)

Seeking a book club

I'm a casual reader but would love to meet like minded people and discuss everything about books, get new recommendations and broaden my horizons with different genres. I enjoy fantasy (think piranesi by Susanna Clarke), crime/thriller (especially when it's cheesy), and romance (love a good easy read!)

This book is extremely well written, it has you at the end the edge of your seat as the time traveller tells you his story. A great tale of the self destruction of mankind and the divisions of humanity.
