Jake Howe

Gaming group

I am an experienced GM and own a number of TTRPG systesm across multiple genres; fantasy, horror, sci-fi, murder mystery etc. Moved to Coventry about a year ago and am looking to run some games in-person. I am currently hoping to run some sessions of the ALIEN TTRPG soon. I also have the likes of Morkborg, Dark Heresy, Spire: The City must Fall, Brindlewood Bay etc. I tend to change up what I run regularly. I am happy to take anyone who would be interested in trying out something a little different.

Rich

Seeking a gaming group

I've played lots of boardgames and am interested in trying RPGs. I keep watching Quinns Quest reviews on YouTube and it's making me want to try his recommendations, but up for learning the ropes with the classics (DnD etc) too.

Seeking a book club

Very few of my friends seem to read in the way I did as a child. Any text excites me but politics/history/science fiction are good go tos.

Budgie

Seeking a book club

I would ideally like to join a group in a daytime or online. I enjoy reading daily, mostly crime genre and would like to connect with like minded people

Budgie recommends:

The Missing Family by Tim Weaver
The Missing Family
by Tim Weaver | Learn more and buy
The book starts with an inexplicable mystery of a family disappearing from a boat in the middle of a lake. The central character in all Weavers books, David Raker, specialises in missing person cases and the author is an expert at building suspense and clever plot twists.

Sylvie

Seeking a gaming group

Hi, im Sylvie. I have been a part of several campaigns in the past and I am looking to get back into it with a new group of people. I am familiar with pathfinder 2e but have played a lot more 5e. I have both DMed and been a player (though I think I would be too nervous to dm in front of new people).

Laura

Seeking a book club

Hi, My names Laura. I'm an on and off avid reader but really want to get into a permanent, consistent flow. Eventually, I aim to become an author. I ready everything but I am most interested in Fantasy, Supernatural, Sci-fi and crime fiction. Would love to join a book club and have others to discuss these books with!

Laura recommends:

Affinity by Sarah Waters
Affinity
by Sarah Waters | Learn more and buy
The premises of this book is genius, harrowing, intricate and heart-wrenching all at the same time. Sarah Waters' ability to create an atmosphere, invoke mystery and subvert expectation is second to none. The book is sapphic, supernatural and mysterious in nature, with a twist that will knock your socks off!

Nic

Seeking a book club

Officially I'm retired, so now I just pursue property investment for social housing and working as a therapist. But I should get out more and combining that with getting back into reading more than just a daily newspaper appeals to me

Nic recommends:

The Woman
by Jane Upton | Learn more and buy
This is actually a play script, but I saw it at the Belgrade and it's engaging and challenging

Halim

Seeking a gaming group

Hi, my name is Halim and I have some experience with dnd but only through sporadic oneshots that usually don't end up anywhere because everyone I plan with has other commitments. Looking to start getting more into ttrpgs (dnd mainly but open to other stuff) either online or in person! I tend to lean more into the roleplay aspect of it as a theatre kid by heart, but I also enjoy the combat side of things as well. I will be based in Coventry over the summer and will be available most nights. However once September rolls around I will be moving back to study in Cardiff to which my schedule will change a bit.

Daisytayx

Seeking a book club

Hey!! I’m Daisy. I’m quite new to reading but have recently discovered a real love for it. I’ve found that getting into books has been such a positive and enjoyable experience—it’s opened up a whole new world for me! I’m really interested in joining a book group to keep up my motivation, explore different genres, and hear other people’s thoughts and recommendations. I think it would be a great way to connect with others, share ideas, and build my confidence as a new reader.
