Isabella Ann (Milton Keynes)

Seeking a book club

Hello! My name is Isabella and I am hoping to meet other like-minded people in my local area! I am a big bookworm with a never ending TBR list who loves to go to local coffee shops, the library and to read outside in nature. I read mostly classic books and historical fiction, but I also enjoy some non-fiction and anything that takes my fancy! I don't enjoy reading any very scary or violent books like crime or horror. 📚

I have always love this book for it's witty characters, laughable Mrs and Mr Bennet, lovable Elizabeth Bennet and of course... Mr Darcy!! 😊

MDXreads (Chesham)

Seeking a book club

Im a mid-20s guy who only recently discovered the joy of reading — now I'm making up for lost time. I’ve especially fallen for Japanese literature in translation; there’s something about the quiet depth and subtle emotion that really resonates with me. Always up for thoughtful stories, slow-burn plots, and characters that linger in your mind long after the last page.

mia (Milton Keynes)

Seeking a book club

I read/listen to books of various genres, including non fictions and from classical to contemporary lit. Lately I finished The Flash Boys, Catch-22, The Invention of Hugo Cabret, re-read Call of the Wild and White Fang and have been working to get started with Consider Phlebas by Iain M Banks. For non-fictions, just finished The Psychology of Money and last year Sapiens, now re-visiting The Archaeology of Mind. It would be nice to be able to discuss thoughts on the books, so it's both social and stimulating.

Katie (Amersham)

Seeking a book club

Bit of an introvert but loves books and reading. Fiction wise like a good Murder mystery but looking to try other genres. Non Fiction is travel, history and architecture. However, will read anything as long as the characters and ploy are good. Would like to meet other readers and read new genres.

The book is an unsettling and thrilling character portrait of a struggling man. I keep rereading it and every time it unfolds to me in a different light.

DP eternal bookworm (High Wycombe)

Seeking a book club

When I finish yet another amazing book I always want to share the moment. I love being sociable but I want to join a group that love reading and socialising. I don’t stick to a set genre of reads, diversity is prescribed by time and location.

It flips backwards and forwards in time, characters and is a story woven around two majestic rivers.

The Wit (High Wycombe)

Seeking a book club

Hi there! I’m an introverted and neurodivergent reader who’s new to the area. I’ve been reading fiction for a few years now, with a particular love for epic and dark fantasy. Just looking to connect with like-minded people here, and maybe join a book club where we can socialise and dive into deep discussions about our favourite books.

The Wit recommends:

Malazan: Book of the fallen by Steven Erikson

It’s like looking through a window into a whole new universe. The world building is amazing with no typical heroes and villains, instead it is full of complex and grey characters. The politics, warfare and philosophy, it has got all of it and the depth of writing style is just fantastic.
