Harry (Milton Keynes)

Seeking a gaming group

I am quite new to D&D, 26 now and had a group of friends who tried it when I was 15 and had a decent time but obviously very restricted because we didn't know what we were doing. I kind of still don't but would love to go through a campaign and learn because I found it so fun when I Tried it. Around Milton Keynes area and would love to go through my first proper campaign and learn.

Newbie ish to ttrpgs, have played VtM for a few months now and have played Baldurs Gate 3 but no actual experience in D&D yet. A chill, nerdy 23 year old guy just looking to find a semi regular D&D group for me and my partner to join in or around Aylesbury.

Tony (Chesham)

Seeking a book club

I am 67 and have a wide range of books I enjoy reading. Crime and thrillers are a good genre to chill out to, but I also like novels. My favourite recent books are The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Reid Jenkins, which is simply a novel, and the First 15 Lives of Harry August by Claire North, which is quite sci-fi. I don’t only read books with numbers in the title… Being able to meet up fortnightly or monthly would be nice.

Tony recommends:

The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
by Taylor Reid Jenkins | Learn more and buy
A clever book and goes at a nice pace. The author also wrote Daisy and the Six (another number in the title) which I also really enjoyed
The First 15 Lives of Hugo August
by Claire North | Learn more and buy
The author shows great imagination and storytelling. At the outset I was worried in case it was some sort of copy of Kate Atkinson's 'Life After Life' (another of my favourite books) but it is very different.

Ellen (Gerrards Cross)

Seeking a book club

Looking to join a friendly book club. I’m in my mid-20’s and I particularly like reading fantasy but will read pretty much anything. I’ve been in a reading slump for a while now, so hoping that a book club with help get me back into reading and be a way to meet some new people.

Seeking a gaming group

Hey there! I’m a mid twenties baker who’s looking to join a new group to really get into the physical dice side of Dungeons and Dragons! I’ve been playing 5e through Roll20 for years now, and I’d love to finally have a go at proper tabletop play! I’m mainly looking for a weekly game to be a part of with some good people.

Bobby K (High Wycombe)

Seeking a book club

I love to read though must confess to sticking with the same authors and genres. I'd really like to be challenged by fellow readers to try out recommendations from alternative authors and/or genres. Currently reading the "Gabriel Allon" series of books by Daniel Silva. Lee Child, Michael Connelly and David Baldacci have been other authors I have enjoyed with the occasional PG Wodehouse "Jeeves and Wooster" book thrown in for a laugh! It would be lovely to be part of a "face-to-face" group, perhaps meeting in a local coffee shop or other public venue.

Bobby K recommends:

Die with Zero
by Bill Perkins | Learn more and buy
It made me realise that making memories with those you love is the reason for living.

Elizabeth (Newport Pagnell)

Seeking a book club

I love a wide range of genres, but mainly read fiction. Always up for a recommendation.

Elizabeth recommends:

Jane Eyre
by Charlotte Bronte | Learn more and buy
I love how beyond its time the themes are. Jane is fiercely independent and has such a strong sense of self, even though her sex and position in the world, do not offer her any advantages. She believes in love and will not accept second best.

Elliethereader (Chesham)

Seeking a book club

I am a Kiwi in her late 20's who is new to the UK and is looking for a book club of those who love reading as much as I do. I love to read a wide a variety of fantasy, romantasy, dystopian, historical and magical realism books. (a bit of non-fiction when I'm in the right mood as well). My book taste are as follows: The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak Powerless by Lauren Roberts The Throne of Glass Series by Sarah.j.Maas On writing by Stephen King DIvine Rivals by Rebecca Ross

Elliethereader recommends:

Throne of Glass
by Sarah.J.Maas | Learn more and buy
Love the growth ands complexity of the plots of each characters. This is a tale of growth, loss and ultimately sacrifice that comes as each character grows.
The Book Thief
by Marcus Zusak | Learn more and buy
Death is the narrator is one of the many beautiful things in this book. It is set in WW2 Germany and taken from the fresh perspective of a 12 year old who is living in this society that has been warped by anti-semitism.
