Seeking a book club

I’m a happily single working mum. Life is busy but I love to read. I’m looking to make new friends and discover new books! Would be great to find a club that meets every few weeks for chats and drinks.

Ian

Seeking a book club

Hi, I’m Ian and I live on my own which causes some loneliness issues so I want to get out and meet like minded people who love to read. I’ve always been an avid reader and have a fairly eclectic taste of books to read, from crime novels from such as Michael Connelly and David Baldacci to sheer escapist fun like Kate Atkinson to opinion forming books from such as Mark Levin. So, if you have room for me, I would love to join the Group.

Ian recommends:

Life after Life by Kate Atkinson
Life after Life
by Kate Atkinson | Learn more and buy
This is a complex story involving the life of a particular heroine that combines the difficulties of her life with a delicate, emotional touch and the occasional glimpse of Atkinson’s sardonic sense of humour.

I love reading & would love to join a group of like minded people that enjoy reading too. I’m happy to try any type of book but particularly like crime thrillers. I’ve recently discovered Shari Lapena, I’ve really enjoyed reading those books!

WLS1959

Seeking a book club

Hello my name is Wendy, I'm 64 a nurse of 40+ years and currently work 20hrs a week. I would like to meet and make friends with those who enjoy reading and discussing their choices with others.

WLS1959 recommends:

An Evil Cradling by Brian Keenan
An Evil Cradling

Brian 'makes the emptiness of imprisonment speak' Not the most enjoyable novel I've ever read but definitely the one which has left the greatest and hasn't been equaled in the subsequent decades. I think it should be essential reading on the GCSE syllabus, for English language/literature/politics/psychology and generally an education of life.

Anne Brandolani

Seeking a book club

I've always loved literature and would enjoy talking to others about books we've read. I think joining a book club would be a way of getting to know authors I haven't read before and it would be a nice, sociable thing to do.
