Elenareads

Seeking a book club

Would love to meet new people that I can share my reading experience with. In person meet-ups would be great to chat about our recent buddy read, it's a great way of meeting new people and socialising based on our interests. Always wanted to be part of a bookclub. I read almost any genre, mostly horror, sci-fi, fantasy, fiction but anything with a clever concept. 25 y old based in Poole โœจ๐Ÿงš

Elenareads recommends:

Butter
by Asako Yuzuki | Learn more and buy
It's 450 pages of slow slice of life, manipulation, feminism and misogyny, romance and the transgressive pleasures of food in a vivid and , sometimes, unsettling way. It is very character driven and It's not focused around figuring out the killings, it's a slow paced character development sequence. The author questions some deep seated Japanese stereotypes, more around women and cooking.

David

Seeking a book club

Hello, my name is David and I'm 23 years old. I am trying to get back into reading, and I'm hoping that joining a book club will give me the motivation to finish more books. I'm open to reading any genre, so I'd love to hear any recommendations. The most recent novel I read was 'The Road' by Cormac McCarthy, which I loved. I also like short stories. One that I read and enjoyed recently was 'Sweat' by Zora Neale Hurston.

Rabi

Seeking a book club

Iโ€™ve recently gotten back into reading after a long break. Lately, Iโ€™ve been reading a lot of fantasy books, but Iโ€™m open to exploring other genres as well. The only downside is that none of my friends are really into reading, so I donโ€™t have anyone to discuss books with. Iโ€™m looking to meet like-minded people who enjoy talking about books and sharing recommendations.
