Dan

Seeking a gaming group

I have previously DMd 2 campaigns and have been a player occasionally too. I am new to Horsham and looking to make new friends and thought that finding a group to play D&D with might be a good start! If someone is looking for a player or even a DM please don't hesitate to reach out to me :). For personal details about me: I am 25, a psychology graduate, my favourite author is Kurt Vonnegut, and some people mistake me for being funny.

Seeking a book club

Hello :) I am a 21yr old aussie sorta new to the area. I work a 9-5 and outside of work ya can normally find me journaling, at the beach, cooking, gardening, on a walk, or snuggled up with my cats! I would like to get more into reading sort of for an escape but also to learn. I am not really sure yet but I have previously enjoyed historical memoirs, however they are a bit sad.

Middle-aged fantasy fan, M51, straight. I haven't played since the 90s but familiar with 5e and now 2024 edition. Has been collecting lots of minis but not ready yet to DM. Would like an easy going group of adults to play with when my hectic life schedule allows

Seeking a book club

I’m someone who used to read veraciously as a teenager, now as a new mom of two littles I’m slowly getting back into it over the past couple of years. Looking to join a group to make new like minded friends, discover new genres, and just have a good time talking about some of our favorite reads and life in general! I’ve been gravitation g more towards fantasy and contemporary fiction at the moment, current read is the Red Rising series by Pierce Brown!!

Seeking a book club

I love reading, and have always wanted to join a book club. After much research I haven’t been able to find much in my area, and would love to join up with others who also love reading to create some sort of regular book club! I’d love to make more friends who love reading and who I can share book recommendations with :)

Seeking a book club

I am wondering whether there would be any interest were I to start a book club here on the Graylands Estate Horsham in September maybe? Currently looking for great suggestions to put on my kindle while I'm in France. Ex opera singer, dog owner, coffee and cocktail drinker. Please message me if interested in the book club [email protected]

Testament of Youth by Vera Brittain

Part of a trilogy following the nursing journey of the author during the first World War. A rare personal look at that era that reads like a beautiful novel rather than a boring old history book. Really gave me an insight into the lives of my grand parents and great grandparents.

I love a good read. My taste can be quite eclectic. I have read Eleanor Oliphant and have enjoyed a whole collection of books by John Boyne. I have recently discovered Paul Murray - A bee Sting. I would love to meet and discuss good books as well as getting some good recommendations. I also enjoy chatting !

I love reading and am looking to make some bookish friends. I read a lot of fantasy in my teenage years and transitioned into magical realism and standard fiction as an adult but will give anything a go!

I have always loved reading but have recently renewed my passion. I am a busy mum (to a teenager and toddlers!) in my late 30s. I love to use any free time I get to escape into a good book. I really enjoy a good psychological thriller. But my particular love is a thought provoking and emotional read (one of my favourites is A Little Life, Hanya Yanagihara). Would love recommendations and discussions.

Seeking a book club

I used to read a lot as a child but as I grew up ‘life’ often meant that I was too busy or too tired to pick up a book. I’m now in my 40’s and have just worked through the hardest few years of my life. My escapism when everything felt too much - Reading! The light has been restored! and I now feel confident enough to try and share this love of books with other likeminded people. I love book browsing just as much as I love reading and I can often be found browsing bookshops, charity shops, Amazon, Goodreads, instagram … anywhere where I might come across a hidden jewel that I just have to add to my TBR list! Enjoy most genres although I tend to avoid fantasy as it’s not really my cup of tea. Saying that, there are always exceptions. ☺️

Seeking a book club

I love to read, and I have been in a couple of book clubs in the past couple of years of different sizes. Sadly most of them have fallen to the wayside now as all the members have moved around geographically and we are just all a bit too far apart. I am looking to join (or start if there’s others who have a similar idea) a book club in the local Horsham area to meet people who are equally passionate about reading. I really want an opportunity to make more friends who share this passion, as I feel it is an absence in my life currently. I would really just love to be able to get together on a monthly basis (or fortnightly depending on availability) to discuss books and get to share recommendations and literary interests with people who feel similarly to me.

It’s the first of a fantasy series which explores parallel universe worlds where magic has a variety of expressions and impacts. Red London, Grey London, White London and Black London. Through a small group of characters the book explores this world of magic in such a visceral and exciting way, and the series only gets better with each book. For anyone who loves fantasy and magical realms, this is the book for you!

Retired recently, love books from family dramas, phsycological thrillers and just plain thrillers. I visit the library and enjoy trawling charity shops for books. Was in a book club where I used to live and loved reading books I never would have thought of.
