I'm 21 and I've recently moved to Gloucester and I'd like to join a book club to meet like-minded people and make friends! I like nature-writing, fiction, essays, and classics. My favourite classics is The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Brontë, and my favourite book that I've read so far in 2026 is Fair, the Life Art of Translation :) One of my favourite book is Foster by Claire Keegan 😄

Seeking a book club
We're building something Gloucester doesn't really have yet. A book club that's about more than just finishing a book. A place to meet people (16+) , discover new genres, share ideas, and youth who wants to build genuine friendships. Over time, the plan is to create different book clubs and events for every kind of reader—from fantasy and romance to thrillers, classics, manga, non-fiction and more. We are a startup so right now we're looking for the first people who want to help shape the community from the ground up. I’ve been playing a campaign since December (2 hour session every Monday), but the group are on hiatus for a while and I’d like to find either another online group or in person one to run alongside my existing group. I’m still pretty new to role play so may take me a few sessions to build confidence in that. But I love DnD and want to set aside more time for it. My existing group are playing a homebrew campaign and use 2024 rules. I’m currently playing a forest elf Druid but would look to use a new character for another campaign. I’m really easygoing when it comes to plot, so I’d flesh out my new character around that. I don’t mind starting new with the group or joining mid-game, as that is what I have done with my current group.

I moved to Gloucester a couple of years ago but have no book friends! It would be so fun to meet some other women who love to read smutty romance, fantasy, cosy crime, and the occasional serious fiction. I only recently discovered the world of romance that is KU and would love to make some friends who also indulge! Other than reading/ listening, I love going for walks with my family + our golden retriever, scoring things for my daughter on Vinted, and watching old 90’s movies for the millionth time.
