I live just outside of Dorchester. I enjoy all sorts of books, but really love quite dark and beautifully written books, and stories with complex characters. My favourite book of all time is The Secret History by Donna Tartt, which I've read over 10 times. I am hoping joining a book club could introduce me to something different. I am a regular Tour Guide at the two houses of Thomas Hardy in Dorchester. I am also a member of the Thomas Hardy Society. I have recently published a book called Thomas Hardy Abridged about his novels and short stories, that is now available on Amazon. I would be delighted to visit any local book clubs to present an hour's presentation on Hardy's life and loves. No fee just the opportunity to meet other Hardy fans and of course to sell some copies of my book!
