We’re a fun, friendly reading group aimed at sufferers of depression and anxiety, based in Cannock, Staffordshire. We’re different from a book club as we don’t all read the same thing. Each fortnight, we give our members a reading prompt (e.g A mystery novel) and it’s up to each individual to pick a book that fits the prompt. We meet fortnightly at Cannock Library for a cuppa and a chat about what we’ve read that fortnight. We’re a lovely read group of avid readers, and we all believe in the power of reading for mental health.

Hi I’m a 50 year old Teaching Assistant who loves to read. I’ve always got a book in my hand in my spare time. I love crime, psychological thrillers, romance, murder/mystery, quite a lot of different genres really. I would love to join a book club to meet new people and share my book reading experiences. At the moment I’ve been reading a lot of Colleen Hoover books which I would highly recommend.

Retired boomer, avid reader since the age of 4. When I ran out of books which I often did, I would read the dictionary, or a thesaurus. I have eclectic tastes, but stay away from horror and tend to like positive outcomes rather than tear jerkers.
