Seeking a book club

Alone, I tend to read more 'literary' fiction, but I want to join a group to get new ideas! A previous club really shook up the genres, in a (mostly) good way, and I miss finding the unexpected gold. Plus always interesting to see others' differing reactions to mine

A creative partnership. How two talented people can create something far bigger than either would've been able to do alone. Their genre is computer games, but the fractious friend / co-worker / annoyance dynamic applies to many creative fields (e.g. John and Paul?). Also a great description of the creative process, and the excitement of watching a company grow from two employees and a bedroom to a respectable force.

Seeking a gaming group

I'm a guy in his late 20s. I have some experience as a DM (I hosted a couple of one-shots, but nothing long-term). Up for any genre or setting. I'm here to make role playing a more regular part of my life rather than just one off occurrences and to meet a bunch of cool people on the way. If you need a DM I have a bunch or weird systems I can run, one of which is custom-made rule book I made with some people years ago. It's full of holes and held together by zip ties and tape, but it's functional and fun to play.

Seeking a gaming group

I (as DM) and ~5 players are looking for another player (preferably a chick for gender balance). We play DnD 5e/5.5, module campaign (Tomb of Annihilation). We are on act 2 of our campaign, and we are now at level 4. We are a table of University postdoc/Industry postgrad researchers, enjoying our late 20s to mid-30s. The group has been the most fun group I have DMed so far. We meet at least twice a month (or when at least 4 players are available), and we rotate hosting between Mill road, Grafton, Edington (and sometimes Milton). Fine with no to beginner experience with DnD, as long as you can commit.

Walter

Seeking a book club

I'm 63, and recently moved to the UK. I like a variety of books in the non-fiction world, although within fiction I tend to read mainly crime, espionage or historical fiction I'd love to make contact with others to share book conversations.

Educated

The gradual escape by way of education, of a young woman, from the horror of life as a family under the spell of an extremist, despotic father, in the religious world of the Mormons.
A Perfect Spy
by John le Carre | Learn more and buy
It's not especially plot-driven in that it tells the story of a man's journey from a childhood entangled with a fantastical con-man of a father through to a distinguished career as a British intelligence officer, interwoven with his other life, passing information to Czechislovakia.

Arthur

Seeking a gaming group

Hi, I'm Arthur (28, m), and I've been playing D&D on and off for about 7 years - mostly 5e but happy to learn anything! Love both the silly and the serious moments, and like a narrative play-style. I've been on both sides of the table, although I think I'm just looking to join as a player while life settles down (at least for now!) I've just moved to Cambridge for a job in biotech, so mostly looking have some laughs and meet others who enjoy some good, nerdy fun!

Seeking a gaming group

I am a 34 year old man that has been playing various table top games, but mostly in 2014 5e, Daggerheart, FATE and a few others, and want to try 2024 D&D as well. Generally do not dm unless I am doing a short adventure since I run out of steam. I am looking mostly for a more narrative game with people I can have a laugh with!

Seeking a gaming group

I've been DMing for 10 years and love playing all kinds of games! I mainly dabble in Fifth Edition D&D. Lover of homebrewery, rule of cool, and welcoming newcomers into the hobby! My partner and I just moved and are looking to get a game set up with the 5E Obojima setting!

IssyBee

Seeking a gaming group

I work at UoC, in my very late 20's and am a very chill nerdy woman looking for a new group to join and adventure with! I've been playing with the same group and campaign for the last 4 years and it's slowly coming to an end so would like to find new people to make friends and roll (hopefully not badly) with! I've played in 2014 5e and dappled in other systems like MOTW; very open to learning 2024 rules and other systems! I've played from low to mid level and am comfortable with building characters within different worlds and settings.

I (as DM) and ~6 players are looking for another player. One of the players will migrate soon, and thus we are hoping to find another girlie to fill her spot and continue making the campaign extra fun. We just started the campaign, and we are now at level 3. We are a table of University/Industry researchers enjoying our 30s. They've been the most fun group I have DMed so far. We meet at least twice a month (or when at least 4 players are available), and we rotate hosting around Cambridge. Regarding the campaign, we are running Tomb of Annihilation.
