Clover

Seeking a book club

I've been an avid reader since I was a child, and now I would like to explore the social aspect of a book club and meet new/like-minded people! I primarily read nonfiction and classics, but I'd also love to explore new genres.

40 year old guy, moved to Bideford 9 months ago. Lapsed bookworm (went over to the dark side of Netflix addiction...) looking for a reason to read again, plus a social outlet. I enjoy literary fiction, classics, fantasy, occasional sci-fi, some funny stuff.

Bideford Library Reading Group

Book club

Bideford Library Readers’ Group is now in its fourth year, offering a welcoming and stimulating atmosphere for book lovers of all ages. We have a core group of 12 members and there's still room for newcomers to join and be the part of the discussions. We choose a book per month and read it on our own before convening to discuss. Tea and biscuits are served, and the library has provided us with a monthly newsletter, Readers Reply, written primarily by Colin Bray, the sole male member of the group. We've had a few notable Authors visiting us in the past such as Hilary Bonner and Tony Benn, and if you're interested we would welcome you to attend one of our gatherings at New Road, Bideford, Devon, EX39 2HR - please call into the library in advance to pick up a copy of the book.
