FrancescaBee (Trowbridge)

Seeking a book club

I love romance books and am getting back into my fantasy. I want to meet and connect with people around my age who like the same books and hopefully find a community where I can share my love of books and baking! Although I love romance I’m up to try reading anything, so happy to discuss books of all genres and tropes 😁

It’s a great slice of life romance with a beautiful set of characters. The FMC is very high functioning autistic and the MMC have a 180 degree behaviour switch that’s just so refreshing for me. He loves her for her and not her mask. He

ACA (Devizes)

Seeking a book club

I am retired and have moved to Devizes. I like reading, mostly not too high brow but will tackle more challenging topics. I do like a book to stimulate discussion and perhaps take me out of my comfort zone with reading. I’m looking to join a local in person book group who meet every 4 or 5 weeks.

ACA recommends:

The Marriage Portrait
by Maggie O’Farrel | Learn more and buy
It was suggested by a friend and I would not normally be have chosen historical fiction. The book combines suspense , politics, art and the limited freedoms of women in 16th century. The suspense element gives the book momentum, and the main character is portrayed with emotional depth and intelligence.

The Will Of The Many by James Islington
The Will Of The Many

This book has opened up a whole new narrative for me through the vivid imagery descriptions used crossed with the Roman period setting. This book also provides a new view of a political stance within fiction through vis’s eyes. This book reevaluated my whole knowledge and experience of epic fantasy and also expanded my craving for good dark academia.

David (Amesbury)

Seeking a book club

I am 72 years of age and I have been writing novels for two years and currently writing my third. I have been trying my hand at fiction, crime thriller and survival thriller. I decided to do this, not so much to make money but to keep my mind occupied. Dementia and Alzheimer's runs in my family, so I use writing as a away of preventing it.

Tel (Westbury)

Seeking a book club

Aged 74, retired, disabled, not wheelchair dependent, have been a committed reader (even cereal boxes) all my life, predominantly non-fiction, seek quality 'belle lettre' scribbles to mystery / horror / detective stories (including defective detectives), and insist on autobigraphies that do not include the famous and the celebrities. Would seek something in the afternoon.

Tel recommends:
