Seeking a book club

I'm a big historical fiction fan but want to expand my range of genres. Would be interested in meet ups outside of the normal working day.

The Skylark's secret by Fiona Valpy

This was one of my quickest read books as it fully drew me in to the story. Its primarily a WW2 story but switches between wartime and the 1970s. It highlights the role of remote, scottish, west coast communities in the artic convoys. With romance, war and mystery all intertwined, I highly recommend it.

Kristin takes you on an emotional journey through World War II with particular focus on the woman of the French Revolution. The book demonstrates womans resilience through these hard times and the bravery they had to endure. It's an amazing read.

Joshua.T (Livingston)

Seeking a gaming group

New player looking for a D&D group for an in-person adventure. Only played a one-shot once before but the group never stayed in touch. In my 30's so, late bloomer due to lack of social life and simply not in the right circles to be a part of the community when I was younger. Due to work, my availability is strict so weekly meet-ups may be difficult but workarounds can be arranged if possible.

M (Broxburn)

Seeking a gaming group

I've been a DM for several years now and am looking to exercise my creative muscles. I've mostly played 5e but am happy to upgrade to new rules if needed. I'm a story driven DM that can customise the session to my players, or can use official material to run an established adventure. I'm looking to create a welcoming and inclusive group of all levels of experience and all manner of people from all walks of life. However, I am a parent with responsibilities, so keep that in mind.

Always curious and forever adding “just one more” book to the pile. I love stories that transport me to another world / place. Excited for good chats, new recommendations and the occasional heated debate over which character we loved (or couldn’t stand)!

I have never actually played a TTRPG before but I know a bit about D&D. I'm not sure what games I'd enjoy but I'd definitely want to give D&D (preferably 5th edition but any other than 4th is fine) or Pathfinder a try and I'm open to other suggestions too.
