Rebecca (Farnham)

Seeking a book club

I like crime, thriller, romcom, some classics and a touch of fantasy- an all rounder I guess! I work from home so I’d like to meet people with an interest in reading and get out of the house a bit more socially. I’d be up for daytime coffee or glass of wine in the evening.

Roxi (Reigate)

Seeking a book club

I am an avid thriller/suspense reader (James Patterson) but I would love to expand my reading and join a book club to get other readers book choices and chat over a coffee or glass of wine.

Roxi recommends:

Cross by James Patterson
Cross

fast-paced, page-turning narrative, characterized by short, suspenseful chapters and numerous twists and turns that keep readers guessing until the end. Readers appreciate the engaging storyline, well-developed characters with emotional depth, and the signature James Patterson writing style. The novel successfully blends multiple mysteries with a central plot, all tied together by the popular and relatable Alex Cross character. Key Strengths of the Novel: Fast-Paced Plot: The book is a "real page-turner" with quick, snappy chapters that build relentless momentum and keep readers hooked. Engaging Story: The storyline is filled with twists and turns, keeping readers guessing and on the edge of their seats until the end.

Maria (Surbiton)

Seeking a book club

30 yo, recently got back into the habit of reading thanks to ACOTAR (my first experience with romantasy and I'm loving it! I'm currently reading ACOWAR), my favourite genres are classic, romance and fantasy! I'm new in the area so I'm looking to meet new people with similar interests :)

Maria recommends:

Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen

I think this is Austen's most interesting book, very different from her other titles! It has mystery and romance, really lovely! I don't know which other book would be really similar to this but the one that comes to my head is Dracula due to the mystery side of things.

It is such a feel good book, with hope and how somehow we can impact a life without really knowing how amazing this can be for the person. It is also about what family really means and what happiness means in practice and on a visceral level. It is also written so beautifully, down to earth... not at all sickly sweet and you just end up liking all those that are meant to be liked and actually you pity those that a pain in the backside as sometimes we have all experienced trying to do good but it going wrong. No to mention the moments when you are laughing... because even in the most tense of life moments...even when you can't see it at the time... life is side splittingly funny x

Kate (Lingfield)

Seeking a book club

40F living in Surrey (near Lingfield). I’ve loved reading since I was a child, and even more so as an adult as it’s one of my favourite ways to unwind after a day at work. I’ve connected with a lot of other readers since I set up a bookstagram account (@pixelspaperink) but it would be nice to see if there’s anyone local and bookish :) Favourite genres are thriller and romance (bit different!) and I also enjoy running as a means to unwind. Also partial to a cocktail—or four!

Meenu Mohan (Guildford)

Seeking a book club

I enjoy discovering new book recommendations and have a particular love for thought-provoking fiction as well as books on arts, culture, and heritage. While I haven’t read much crime fiction yet, I’m open to exploring it. I’m not a voracious reader, but reading brings me peace, and I’d like to expand my reading habits and connect with others who share a passion for books.
