Clare (Berwick-on-Tweed)
Seeking a book club
Hi! I'm newly relocated to Berwick-Upon-Tweed and looking for some bookish pals. I write fiction (I'm not published) and particularly enjoy reading literary fiction (especially coming-of-age themes) and contemporary poetry / prose poetry.

Have done a lot of RP over the years, Started back in (I think) 1988, 2nd Edition AD&D, Played so many games I couldn't list them all, but do prefer my older rulesets just because I'm so old now I find it a bit difficult to remember new rules (53 this year). I prefer Cthulhu (1920's) Cyberpunk, Shadowrun, Some White Wolf, AD&D obviously .. Not overly keen on the newer 3rd Edition+ as they're more just a TTRPG, I prefer imagination over setting mini's up on a board ... I've GM'd / DM'd for so many years I'd prefer to play now ... Oh also .. Myself and my wife are ASD, so it takes a bit for us to get comfortable with new people / groups ... Just thought I'd add that :D Now that we have Red October Games in Prudhoe, would be willing to meetup for RPG there! Myself and Wife.

Seeking a gaming group
I am a parent with a child off school looking for d&d face to face in Hexham for him. Ie to keep him off tech. I would be there in the background working ie not letting him meet a stranger! I’d pay like I would an online tutor if necessary… I just would like him to do some d&d face to face rather than tech online, pain means I have to keep his mind busy hence hard to find activities off line when I have to do some work myself. Day time ideal but release it may be evenings

Dan (Hexham)
Seeking a gaming group
I've been a GM for almost 10 years digitally. Playing modern systems like 5E, pathfinder, blades in the dark, pbta, and fate. But my favourite systems are that in the osr sphere, I have a very strong pull to the older style of gaming what we see in OD&D and BX I currently use white box, shadowdark and knave as my main systems. I also do more than just fantasy games I'm known for running calls of Cuthulu and kids on bikes for time to time. I do run a small online community where I host games but I'm looking to find a strong offline group now.

Seeking a book club
I’m a 27 year old who’s favourite genres are fantasy, romance, thriller and most fiction written by Japanese authors (there’s just something about their writing style I just love). I’ve been living in Northumberland for over a year now after moving up from Hampshire, so my only friend at the moment is my boyfriend 🤣 I attended my first book club in Morpeth last month and would like to attend more, especially if there is one in Ashington!

I’m a 68 year old who needs to pick up a book and be so immersed in it that I can’t put it down. It would be fun to find out other people’s thoughts on the same book of choice

Seeking a book club
Over the last few years winding down at work and entering retirement I have enjoyed being part of 2 book groups. Have recently moved to the area I’m hoping to join a local group. I’ve found the staff at Hexham library very helpful, and the library itself a friendly place so feel confident that any book groups connected with the library will be good to join.

Diane H (Prudhoe)
Seeking a book club
I enjoy reading but go through phases of reading a lot for a while then nothing for a while. So I would like to read more consistently rather than binge reading. I just really enjoy a good story that can maybe inspire me to research on the theme. I am not keen on detective, fantasy or over girlie books. I am not really up on current popular fiction. I have recently revisited books, 'Riddley Walker' by Russell Hoban, which I read again as soon as I finished so that I could analyse it. 'Daughter of Fortune' by Isabel Allende, I enjoy a good picaresque saga. 'The Wasp Factory' by Iain Banks, probably my favourite author, although I can't get into his sci-fi. I would like to discover more current authors who have something to say and then have people to discuss it with, especially if I really enjoyed it and found it unusual. I am 53 and recently moved to Prudhoe and would like to meet new people.
