Alison (Alnwick)
Seeking a book club
I'm in my 60's, I used to be in a monthly book club before moving here and I'd like to join one again. Rather than big books on very serious themes, I like contemporary fiction (but am open to trying out new fields, and non-fiction). Recently I've enjoyed Jane Harper's novels (The Dry etc); also Martin Cruz Smith's novels set in Russia, and Mick Herron (Slow Horses). A bit of a soft spot for Ursula Le Guin too. But I'd like to be introduced to other genres and authors. It would be good to meet in eachother's houses, or in Barter Books if they still offer that.

I am 15 min walk from the Forum so easy to get to for book club meetings and the cinema. I am a very keen reader - open to all styles so welcome recommendations. I am keen to meet similar minded people - coming up to winter it is time get comfy with a good book!

James (Ashington)
Seeking a book club
Hi, I’m 33 and recently relocated to Ashington. I only started properly reading again this year, so I still feel a bit new, but I’m really enjoying fantasy and romantasy so far (and happy to explore other genres too). I’d love to join a more casual, social book club — mostly for the recommendations, a good chat, and maybe a coffee or two along the way!
