Lili (Coalville)

Seeking a book club

I love to read although it is hard to do so as a full time mum with a full time job as well. I would be happy to meet new people and discuss about the books that I am reading or read . I like to read psychological thrillers mostly and history inspired by people' s true stories. I like to walk, run, hike and ride my bike and cook.

Lili recommends:

The tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris

The fact that the author wasn't even able written when she met the tattooist of auschwitz which was so eager to tell his story. The love story that happened in such a horrible place and lasted for decades. It is a very sad book but worth reading. A very good history lesson for those who do not know about the Holocaust .

Lilie B. (Leicester)

Seeking a book club

Hi I’m Lilie, I’m a young military spouse. So when my husband is on his shift or deployed, I love filling my time devouring psychological thrillers, romance..sometimes dabble into a bit of Fantasy and horror. I’d love to connect to fellow readers with similar interests instead of scrolling on Booktok all the time 😂.

Twisty and a lot of suspense. If you love a mystery and problem solving..this is definitely a book for you! This book has always kept me on my toes! It’s a decent paced thriller that unfolds mystery but in a way you cannot predict.

Crimre (Loughborough)

Seeking a book club

Hi everyone, I am 37 and love reading (and writing). I am very much into Japanese crime literature, manga, fantasy (like Terry Pratchett) but I am willing to try all kinds of books. I work from home which can be quite a lonely task. So I am looking for a group of like minded people near me to join, read and talk books with. Thanks :)

John (Loughborough)

Seeking a book club

My reading interests span politics, military history, and the inner workings of public institutions, with each area equally important. I enjoy books written by people with direct involvement — politicians, soldiers, journalists, civil servants, and insiders — especially when they offer honest reflections, behind‑the‑scenes insight, or analysis of decision‑making under real-world constraints. I’m also drawn to investigative accounts of political events, organisational failures, and leadership challenges, alongside military memoirs that focus on lived experience rather than abstract strategy. Overall, I prefer clear, factual, grounded non‑fiction that helps me understand how systems and people operate in demanding environments.

John recommends:

In Retrospect
by Robert McNamara | Learn more and buy
An incredible account of how the author, who was then the US Secretary of State for Defence, concluded the Vietnam War could not be won, and the fallout that resulted within the Linden B Johnson presidency.

Faz (Leicester)

Seeking a book club

I've always loved reading but sometimes struggle to find the time. I'm hoping a bookclub will keep me motivated to read more and help me connect with other readers. I mostly read romance (paranormal romance is my favourite) and I occasionally read other genre's. I'm looking for a romance bookclub (also happy to host one if there are people interested)

Kirstin (Market Harborough)

Seeking a book club

I'm a 36 year old mum of 4 and I run my own business. Reading is how I relax and I usually get through 1-2 books a week. I love fantasy, anything sort of magical or witchy and moving and poignant novels. I can also devour a good thriller within a day. I'd love to meet other women nearby who also love to read and maybe make some coffee buddies too!
