Dave.S (Carlisle)

Seeking a gaming group

35, Carlisle-based, long-time 5e player with an established home group and looking to hopefully find another regular game alongside that. Big fan of atmosphere, character-driven stories, darker settings and parties that actually build chemistry over time. I enjoy a good mix of roleplay, exploration and combat, and I’m much more into collaborative storytelling than super optimised or chaotic “meme” playstyles. Prefer online play via Roll20 or similar as it fits around work/life a lot easier these days. Every other Saturday would probably suit best, but I’m open to other Friday–Sunday games depending on schedules. Mostly just looking for a friendly, reliable group of normal people who enjoy tabletop for the social side as much as the game itself.

Gail (Wigton)

Seeking a book club

Hi I am looking to join a book club that is local and meet up face to face. I currently in a club that meets up on line. I am over 60 and work part time. I enjoy reading and like book clubs; as they have got me reading books that I would never have thought of reading and have found some great authors.

A very restful gentle book about wild water swimming and places to swim which are gradually being taken away from ordinary people.

I enjoyed the array of genres: historical fiction, romance, and fantasy and the characters were really well developed.
