Book clubs in Stoke-on-Trent

It's a poetry collection about dating in the modern age. Best review I read described it as "terminally online". Savannah is great at taking moments that, should they happen to us would feel huge, and shrinking them down into broad and relatable terms. It's also just pretty vulnerable and I like that.

Having read this during lockdown it really brought back my interest in reading, not having read for so long. It clicked with me massively being based down in Tonbridge Wells which I grew up not far from. The characters have their differences in personality which really come through on the pages. Every book in this series I've just adored!

This is what I'm currently reading! About halfway through and really loving it so far. I've never had a huge interest in Japan but the writer really makes you care about these characters, whether it's the 'real life' characters or the 'book in a book' characters. It flows wonderfully and super easy to read.

If you liked ‘Kite Runner’, you will definitely love this book. There is a certain rawness about the way Zoulfa has written the book, it makes you feel like you’re walking alongside the main character, cheering her on as she navigates the harshness of what life offers her. The literary realism of this book is what makes you carry on reading, not wanting to put it down as you wish for the fairytale happy ending to counteract the despondency of real life.

Throughout the whole book the descriptions on the characters, the kingdom and everything were just perfection. So many changes throughout that you just can't predict. This book is the sole reason I love to read and the best book ever!

The Twisted series consists of four books and it talks about four best friends’ lives in each one. I love Ana’s writing style and she never fails to disappoint ❤️

Set in the napoleonic era with a flair of fantasy.

A brilliant historical fiction. If you are inclined to listen to audiobooks then I would especially recommend as the performance is 5/5!

One of those thrillers that’s hard to put down - the film adaptation is great too!

This was my favourite book as a teenager and definitely deserves a feature here.

This is a book I fell in love with after reading it in college for one of my A-Levels. Moving, empowering and infuriating all in one. Also has an incredible TV series adaptation!
