Been playing DnD since the start of 5th edition, mostly as a DM. I'm looking for a chance to play as a PC in a campaign running 5e 2024 rules, in Plymouth.

Seeking a book club

Hi! I’m a 28 year old book lover! I’m autistic, and a single mum to a toddler. I read in any spare time I have, and listen to audiobooks daily when doing chores or cooking. I am isolated and have no friends so I am looking to make some book friends and potentially find a book club for September 2025 when my son goes to nursery! I’m also looking for an online book club that’s local people to me attend as well as I want to make real connections with those in my local area so we could eventually do little coffee/book friend dates, or make a point of doing a little get together with pizza or Chinese and a book at home of an evening! Message me if you think you’d like to be friends! I read pretty much anything, although not very huge on classics overall. I really enjoy fantasy, romance, spice, comedy, lighthearted, cosy reads, horror, witchy and spooky, and pretty much anything else. My only aversion really is classics as I find them a little boring! Some of my favourites are the night circus by erin morgenstern, scythe by neal shusterman, the ghost tree by Christina Henry, and I also loved more recently before the coffee gets cold. I am also on Goodreads if you want to message and ask for my username!:) my current read is phantasma by kaylie smith. ❤️

It is a dark fantasy, with all manner of ghosts and hauntings, dangerous and deadly games to play to seek a prize, romance, and a little spice too.

Newcomer to D&D, looking to find some people to play with. Played a couple of one shots in the last few years, but hoping to eventually find a longer term campaign. Have a bit of knowledge of the lore, so want to start with regular games but open to others as well

Seeking a book club

I’m a keen reader who loves books with rich characters and deep storytelling. I’m particularly drawn to authors like Barbara Kingsolver, Anne Tyler, and Bonnie Garmus, who create unforgettable narratives and explore human emotions in such a unique way. I also recently loved The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, which was a great mix of historical fiction and fantasy. I 'd like to join a book-club as I’m keen to meet new friends who share my love of reading and enjoy engaging in thoughtful book discussions. I can’t wait to dive into different genres, explore new perspectives, and share recommendations with fellow book lovers!

Hoping to join or start a monthly meet in person bookclub. Plympton or Plymouth. I enjoy any quality read, some favourite authors are Margaret Attwood, William Boyd, Barbara Kingsolver, Lionel Shriver, Anne Tyler, Nick Harkaway, Michel Faber. Open to new suggestions (but not fantasy, romance or crime).

Have played some online DND 5e, consumed more material than I’ve utilised in games. Big fan of various lores etc, currently a naval nurse and potentially looking for a regular in person DND group to join. 30 something and socially capable, keen to blend tabletops and IPA as a storytelling enhancer.

A monthly (? as agreed) meet to read ambitious and adventurous books new and old - collectively selected from award winners like the Man Booker list. Casual meet on the Waterfont for a drink and a chat. (No schlock/fantasy/YA/Romance)

Would be interested in Booker prizewinner type books - reading discussion say monthly in a cosy pub such as the waterfront on the Hoe. I like Ishiguro best but opening a book should be like opening a door into another world - open to pretty much all genres (except schlocky YA/Romance/fantasy)

AvidPlym recommends:

The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro

It looks like an ancient myth of Britain but it's ultimately the tale of two people journeying through life together, very poignant,
