I’m a fantasy-romance devotee with a soft spot for powerful heroines, morally complex love interests and worlds that feel deliciously dangerous, happiest when I’m lost in the pages of Callie Hart, Rebecca Yarros or Sarah J. Maas. I love high stakes, slow burns, found family dynamics and that goosebump moment when the underestimated girl realises she’s unstoppable. When I’m not reading, I’m usually in the kitchen turning flour, butter and sugar into pure comfort, and I firmly believe every good book discussion should come with brownies. I’d love to find a book club where I can gush over plot twists, debate fictional men with dramatic seriousness, dive into world-building and character arcs, and connect with fellow romantasy lovers who want to share stories, laughter and maybe a slice of cake along the way.

I am a 32 year old women wanting to join a book group that I would enjoy and want to relax in. I would love to meet new people to chat and have some laughter and also talk about a book. I am more into ‘smut’ but I am willing to try other books. I have read fantasy and romance but not much else. I never got into reading till later on in life but really wanting to make some new friends.

Most of my like minded 'book' friends aren't local, and I would love to join a local group to meet up with people with similar interests but also encourage me to read different genres and new to me authors.

I love to read. A book can transport you into a different world while you’re sat in your living room. It’s a window to the world and I would love to share my love of reading with others. I’d also like to broaden my horizons by branching out to different genres.

Seeking a book club

I’ve been a member of book clubs for years(even started one when I lived in France) but haven’t found one locally since I moved to Haworth years ago. I’m now living in Beechwood and would love to join a local club that meets monthly- I’m a prolific reader!

It’s beautifully written and made me laugh out loud, plus its northern heroine resonated with me

Dan R

Seeking a book club

30 y/o based between Keighley and Skipton, looking for a new local book club to discuss books and meet new people. My preferred genres are science fiction, historical and adventure fiction, Gothic fiction, and some slipstream stuff. I tend to like novels that are recursive, or play around with narrative techniques and timelines. My other interests are in geography, travel and history so I sometimes read non-fiction about those topics. My other hobbies include hillwalking and book-collecting, and like to attend book fairs around the North West when I can.

The Quiet Woman by Christopher Priest

Among the best books I've read in 2025, the best I can describe this is as a mystery set against a very restrained science fiction conceit. It reads more like a mainstream novel however, making it slipstream which I am a big fan of. Alternating between the PoV of two different characters, this novel makes use of the unreliable narrator to create an uncomfortable feeling in the reader, placing it firmly alongside Priest's other, more well-known works such as The Prestige and The Separation.
