I wish I'd had the chance to experience reading this as a child as well as an adult.

Hands down the best book in the Sam Vimes discworld series, but I'd definitely reading the previous ones before this to give a good idea of the characters and the progression of Vimes' career. Like all Pratchett books, Night Watch is a scorching take on western society, in this case, rebellion and civic duty, and Vimes re-experiences the biggest event of his life with fresh eyes. I'm loathe to say more without risking spoiling anything, but I love a good time travel plot, and Pratchett handles it perfectly.

It’s a really influential and iconic piece of literature to me which always gives me new things to think about whenever I come back to it.

Drama, romance, fantasy, dragons. It's quite fast paced and the FMC & MMC are just chefs kiss.

It's has everything but it's very graphic like if you've watched that one episode of outlander .. you'd know 😅 but has feelings , fright , anticipation and surprises everywhere
