Seeking a gaming group

Hi there, my wife and I just moved to Kirkmichael and we are looking for people for fantasy role playing (D&D 5e or others) and boardgames (mostly rather heavy coop games, but happy to try new things!). We're both 37, so someone in that rough age range would be awesome, but if we click, we click! 🙂

Mandy

Seeking a book club

I have always loved reading - crime fiction, general fiction, classics - and still get through a lot of books. I recently retired and miss the social interaction of work. Would be great to join a book club with a diverse membership.

Mandy recommends:

A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara
A Little Life
by Hanya Yanagihara | Learn more and buy
It's a relentlessly sad book yet kept me engrossed through its 800+ pages because she writes so well. I was drawn to all the main characters and felt their pain. Although it should be a depressing read, it is at the same time insightful, and full of love, hope and the value of friendship.
Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver
Demon Copperhead
by Barbara Kingsolver | Learn more and buy
A story about a boy growing up in the Appalachians in America in challenging circumstances. It is a retelling of David Copperfield. The author deals with the issues facing Demon brilliantly and I couldn't put the book down. Will undoubtedly become a modern classic.
