I am looking for four new players to embark on a beginner-friendly 5th Edition D&D journey! We will start with a meeting to go over the rules and make characters, then explore exciting places, meet different kinds of NPCs, and battle fierce monsters. The adventure can take the characters from level 1 up to 8, depending on what extra materials we choose to include; how many sessions we play and how long they last (three hours each) will be decided as a group. The group has had twenty-one past events, and we will meet weekly!

The Meetup was established in 2017 and created to introduce all levels of players to the 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons. From character workshops to newbie-friendly campaigns, one-shot adventures, and DM sessions, each game motivates players to embrace the 'newbie' mindset. We honor the pleasure of discovering something new and make sure everyone feels secure while playing. During play, you can express discomfort with directions game is headed and safety tools such as hard lines are put in place. To meet the Dungeon Master early, he'll be at the venue ahead of time. Games are $20 and payable upon the meetup. There are capped RSVP slots and a waitlist if needed.

1XGAmy Carter and 105 others Greetings to all you book lovers out there! I'm creating a community where we can all meet once a month to chat about fantasy or science fiction novels. Later on I'd like for us to host book events or have mutual accountability while purchasing books. In addition, I'll be hosting monthly events like our upcoming discussion on The Art of Prophecy by Wesley Chu. We can read other books while we're there, and then decide which books to read at the next meeting. We'll also be having a book swap and I'm open to having the meetings at other locations. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a message! We currently have 106 members, and hopefully that number will continue to grow!

Meets at The Falcon Hotel on Run by Gail Francis Library service Warwickshire County Council - Libraries Do you love to read and would like to meet up with like-minded people? The Stratford Literary Festival has launched Books with Friends, a monthly book group and phone book group for over 55s especially created for people who might find themselves lonely and isolated for any reason. 'Books with Friends is as much about meeting people over a cup of tea as talking about books,' says Gail Francis from the Festival who is coordinating the monthly events. 'We hope people will come along to make new friends as well as talk about what they liked - or didn't - about the chosen read.' Membership is free, and for members who have difficulties reading because of problems with their sight or because of illness, the Festival can loan audiobooks and listening devices. We also choose books that are available free of charge from RNIB libraries. People who are house-bound can also participate in Books with Friends via a monthly free conference call, which will be lead by a group host. Books with Friends is being supported by Stratford Town Trust and Home Instead Senior Care. The festival is also working with the charities Listening Books and Age UK Warwickshire Befriending Service, as well as a variety of partners in Stratford. The first book group took place at 11am on Thursday 26th February 2015 and anyone interested in coming along should call 01789 470185 or email [email protected] to find out the title of the book of the month.
