Ian (Oxford)

Seeking a book club

Hi. My name is Ian. I am retired and moved to Oxfordshire two years ago with my partner. My ideal meet up location would probably be Central Oxford. Monthly would suit. My current rosta of authors I enjoy include Jonathan Coe, Ian McEwan, Evelyn Waugh and Raymond Chandler; however i am constantly on the lookout for any author who looks worthwhile dipping into. And i would love to get involved in group discussions. I hope to hear back from you soon. Rgds, Ian

Ian recommends:

Goodbye to Berlin by Christopher Isherwood
Goodbye to Berlin
by Christopher Isherwood | Learn more and buy
Read it about a month ago and it sure has stayed with me. The author takes you to a terrible time and place, but describes the characters with genuine affection and brings between the wars Berlin to life despite the decay and impending dread.

KTB (Didcot)

Seeking a book club

Have been in book clubs in Trinidad, Turks/Caico, USA, Vienna. Substance. Classics. Like when folks have read before they show up. I could be up for the Jane Austen book club this year though cliche, and some Shakespeare, and some bucket list.

Leiz (Oxford)

Seeking a book club

I'm in my 50s, with a heart full of curiosity and a deep love for reading. Books have been my lifelong companions, and I truly enjoy connecting with others who share the same passion for stories, ideas, and thoughtful conversation. Whether it's fiction, memoirs, or a good mystery, I believe there's always something new to discover between the pages. Outside of books, Iโ€™m also a big food lover, whether it's trying new recipes, exploring local eats, or sharing a good meal with friends. I cherish warm, genuine connections and believe that some of the best conversations happen over a great bookโ€ฆ or a delicious plate of food!

Monkey8EA5T (Didcot)

Seeking a gaming group

How do. I'm relativly new to Didcot and am looking to try to find a D&D / TTRPG group who play local? I have played 3E early 2000s, but am very rusty. Ive bought a 5E manual to try to relearn but might be better to think of me as a newbie.
