Seeking a book club

Having discovered reading for pleasure around 12 years ago, I am voraciously devouring any and all books I can get my hands on. I have made a vow to work through my backlog of 70+ books! But I'll occasionally allow myself the odd treat while I play catch up. Fantasy, science fiction, speculative, new weird, graphic novels. Le Guin, Pratchett, Leckie, and more.

Anna (Launceston)

Seeking a book club

Hi, I'm an avid book reader and particularly enjoy history. I love to read the books that show the other side of the story like The Wild Sargasso Sea about the story of the woman in the attic in Jane Eyre, or about Dicken's mistress, or Emma Hamilton, Nelson's love. I'm a bit of a feminist and probably nosy (I want to know what's going on behind the scenes!) Hoping to connect with other book-minded people in a world that may be losing its appreciation of this wonderful resource :-)

I'm completely biased because this is my mum's book but she's a proven author with a Carnegie medal recommendation to her name so I think that's ok. This book is about how life might be for a group of young people after ecological collapse - it's about human nature, the good and the bad bits, and it's about hope. It's very topical and like with many books, I find myself wondering where all the ideas came from - frighteningly possible!

Wendy (Bude)

Seeking a book club

I have always loved reading though I’ve never joined a book club. After living in Bude for over 2 years I think it might finally be time! I still enjoy working as a glass artist, though no longer full-time, so I’d rather meet up in evenings.

Badly Behaved Bookclub (Newquay)

Seeking a book club

I enjoy reading so much, that I wanted to share my love for the hobby with other like minded individuals. I am passionate about making reading more inclusive (We read smut but any genre could be picked.) It is amazing to spend time with others whom share the same passion, or obsession πŸ˜‰ What to Expect..... Each meet up will be different, due to conversations, number of people and location. We also get together for social events and other bookish events, like photoshoots.... Reading is not always going to be achievable; from month to month life can get in the way. Therefore, if the pick of the month wasn't for you... okay.. cool, let's not spend loads of time talking about it. Let's just play games and chat with our book besties.

Kirsty J (Redruth)

Seeking a book club

I've found solace in books since i was very smalland am an avid reader still but feel it might be good to have more social environments to perhaps expand my reading but also to connect with like minded people. I'm 39, live in St Day and work in fitness where I am up very early so prefer earlier meetings as my bedtime is 8pm!

The Dark Tower by Stephen King

The beginning of an epic adventure series with incredible detailing and world building you can read it over and over and take in new parts each time. A little more adult, with more dark and complex vibes at times than the lord of the rings but similar adventure feel.
