Don’t really know how book clubs work, but I’m assuming it’s somewhere we get to hold intelligent conversation about why main character is being such a fucking nincompoop. Which I am well up for! Formed a book group in Bedford more than 30 years ago and it is now probably on the point of expiring : I am kind of ancient, but still read widely and prefer something that needs an effort , eg classics, literary novels, biography ,for discussion (read a lot of crime, etc, also but don't specially want to discuss this!). Looking at your listings, I wondered about Ndidi's group, but don't know where / when it meets?

I've started a book club called the Reading Nooks and Great Books Literary Club (think the Guernsey literary and potato peel pie society) where we tackle some of the world's greatest novels over lively discussion. The group is open to both new and seasoned readers of world classics. The main aim is to share our love for literature and the ways it has expanded our worldview. In doing so, we hope to echo Francis Bacon's idea of the good life: "old wood best to burn, old wine to drink, old friends to trust, and old authors to read." 📚🌼🌻📜 You can find the group on Meetup!
