Joseph (Gateshead)

Gaming group

Hi there! I’m looking for fellow TTRPG nerds in the Gateshead/Newcastle area. I’m a lifelong tabletop enthusiast who’s always dreamed of diving into D&D, but I’ve never quite had the party to make that leap. I’ve played tons of genre-adjacent games—Pathfinder CRPGs, crunchy board games, narrative-heavy strategy titles—but I’ve always craved something more stat-driven and collaborative. While I’ve got friends who dabble, none are quite ready to commit to full-on campaign life. So instead of waiting, I’ve started building one myself. The setting? A post-climate collapse world where carnivorous forests have swallowed the lowlands, and vast mountain citadels house what remains of civilization. Think towering canopy sieges, fungal ruins, and ancient machines gnawed by roots and rust. It’s coming together really well, but I’d love to find a group to bring it to life. I’m new to running games but passionate and well-prepared. If you’re into immersive storytelling, collaborative world-building, and are cool with a bit of ecological horror, I’d love to chat. Whether you’re a seasoned player or curious newcomer, let’s roll some dice and see where the wilds take us.

A great first book in a brilliant trilogy, it's amazing to read no matter what age you are. The world building in this series is really well done and the characters are really well developed.

KT (Sunderland)

Seeking a book club

I'm a teacher who took early retirement to look after family and live life more fully. I love all things 'bookish' ... the feel & smell of a book will always be a joy to me. I will read absolutely anything but I am drawn to books which leave their mark long after I've read the last page. Looking to join ( or even start up) a book club in Sunderland.

Ells (Sunderland)

Seeking a book club

Hey, i’m an avid reader, especially contemporary and literary fiction, I love any kind of book about morally-grey women, women who are off-putting or just a little bit weird e.g. Boy Parts by Eliza Clark. I also like reading non-fiction, particularly more political books, I love anything Andrea Dworkin. I’d love to find others with similar reading interests to myself.

Becca (Gateshead)

Seeking a book club

Hi! My name is Becca and I enjoy reading a mix of genres, typically switching between fantasy themed books and fiction! I was looking at starting/joining a small circle that gets together for a cuppa and reads short books of all different genres. Another idea - my background and interests centre around environmentalism, and if people are interested I would love to start a space specifically centered around that!

In short: It's a fantasy Duology that's Sapphic and full of action. More details... After the War of Kinds ravaged the kingdom of Rabu, the Automae, Designed to be the playthings of royals, took over the estates of their owners and bent the human race to their will. Now, Ayla, a human servant rising the ranks at the House of the Sovereign, dreams of avenging the death of her family… by killing the Sovereign’s daughter, Lady Crier. Crier, who was Made to be beautiful, to be flawless. And to take over the work of her father. Crier had been preparing to do just that—to inherit her father’s rule over the land. But that was before she was betrothed to Scyre Kinok, who seems to have a thousand secrets. That was before she discovered her father isn’t as benevolent as she thought. That was before she met Ayla. Set in a richly-imagined fantasy world, Nina Varela’s debut novel is a sweepingly romantic tale of love, loss and revenge, that challenges what it really means to be human.
