Milo (York)

Seeking a book club

I struggle to meet new people and figured this would be a good way to. I enjoy reading basically everything, though have a slight preference for Queer romance and fantasy, and want to talk about books with people. I would like to meet people who are over 18, as I'm 19. I am bi and trans (pronouns he/they), and most likely autistic, though still waiting to take my assessment.

An incredible fantasy that manages to merge multiple mythologies. It follow Adam, the first man, as he moves through human history trying to find his wife, Eve, and accidentally becomes the catalyst for many myths and legends. It's dual timeline set in the the modern day and 1191. It's currently only available as an audio book, but it is free on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcast and Audible. The narrator is incredible and it has amazing sound design, making the world feel really lived in.

Hi, I'm Adam and I'm looking to meet people who like to read. I'm getting a masters in publishing and creative writing at York St John and for the longest time I've been wanting to join a book club to be able to discuss the books I read. Usually I read Sci-Fi books but I also love Horror, Speculative Fiction, Literary Fiction, Classic Literature, and Modern Fiction.

Samuel (Harrogate)

Seeking a book club

Hello, I'm 30 and live in Harrogate. I'd love to find an active local group (or start a new one!). I'm currently making my way through John le CarrΓ©'s books and have had a bit of an espionage obsession recently, but I like to read widely. Ideally some interesting and challenging contemporary fiction, but I'm open to anything (within reason).

Samuel recommends:

This is a really difficult book to categorise, perhaps psychogeography? It's ostensibly about a walking trip along the Suffolk coastline, interspersed with personal and historical digressions which blend fact and fiction and share in common an exploration of human fragility.

I love the way the book keeps you in suspense and has you trying to figure out what is going on as you are reading. It has some good twist along the way, things you do not see coming.

UFOs 2025 – Uncovered (PART 1) is designed to provide readers with a simple exploration of the multifaceted world of UFOs, their historical context, and their contemporary relevance. We will delve into the rich tapestry of ufology, examining key cases, cultural impacts, and the scientific inquiries that have shaped our understanding of aerial phenomena. It used to be a fringe topic but not anymore with everything that going on with the investigations in Congress right now. It also contains an assessment of the so called drone incursions seen around the world and a UFO Disclosure timeline when we will know we are NOT alone. The author is VERY qualified and he has studied this topic for eighteen years! The UFO Disclosure date is CLOSER THAN YOU THINK!!!

I am a player who started playing with DND 5e 2014 rules back in 2018. I haven't played as much as I would like, but I am currently running a campaign for friends online. I would prefer to just play, but I can run a campaign as well.
