My name is Colin Jeffery Smith and I was born in Torquay in 1953. I was educated at Audley park Secondary Modern school. I spent 26 years in the Royal Air Force. I live in Grantham. I have been an avid reader since I was allowed to join a library at 12. I especially like historical and intelligence novels as well as military subject non fiction and reference books. Novelists include John Le carre, Frederick Forsyth, Mick Herron, Mark Dawson, Lee Child. Marion Zimmer Bradley Rosemary Sutcliff among others. I I may, I would like to introduce a novel I have written, It is a trilogy, of which, book one has already been published. It is called The Orphan Country and can be found on my website - colinjsmithauthor.com It was published last August and I am attempting to spread the word. Based near Grantham, reading is my escape and delight; writing gives me my sense of freedom and skills for my working life. I love bookshops, libraries, coffee shops with my kindle in hand and always have a notebook to hand for those book suggestions and writing ideas. I’d love to join a local book group. My main reads are romance, women’s fiction, crime and detective stories and gardening books. If it has library, coffee, book or reading in the title I’m likely to pick it up and start to read!

I absolutely love reading and my style is crime and psychological thrillers with twists that keeps me guessing whodunit. We can start a book club and invite other to join in. As long as there's no romantic Mills and Boons on the program :-). I am not one for small talk and having a lot of opinion to express like to hear what others also think and discuss my or their interpretation.
