This crime thriller is unusual at only about 40,000 words. It's a great Sunday read or holiday read. The main character, Lizzie Holland is in her 40's when she joins the police after a tragedy. This book not only has murder and mystery but also an insidiously nail biting background thread. Highly recommend.
